It’s been a whirlwind year for Team Space Wales and the wider space community, packed with fantastic events, standout moments and activities and breakthroughs that kept the momentum sky-high!
2025 Events / Digwyddiadau 2025
The programme of events brought the team together with many of our member companies, as we connected across the UK and Europe.
This has been a year bursting with exciting activity and headline-worthy announcements from Space Wales, our valued members, and the wider Space community
Highlights from Space Wales
We launched the Wales Space Cluster Catalyst Fund, funded by the UK Space Agency, and supported by Space Wales and the Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government.
We also launched our new Space Capability Matrix, offering a clear view of Wales’s evolving space sector and highlighting the innovation, collaboration, and ambition driving sustainable growth.
In September we hosted a Space & Resilience Workshop at Pembrokeshire College, where David Pile, Senior Director International Business Development joined us as a guest speaker, giving an overview of their proposed DARC (Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability).
University / Prifysgol Caerdydd winning Hybrid Team at the 2025 Race 2 Space Competition.
SwanSEDS / Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe took first place, and USW Rocketry Society / University of South Wales 2nd place, at Exotopic's Mach-25 Competition.
USW Rocketry Society also achieved third place in the UKSEDS - UK Students for the Exploration and Development of Space National Rocketry Competition.
January & February brings a packed programme of in-person and online activity for the Space Wales community, with opportunities to connect, learn and scale.
Meet ImplementSpace – In-Person Sessions
19 January | OpTIC Centre, St Asaph | 10:00–13:00 22 January | CISM, Swansea University | 10:00–16:00
Space Wales is hosting two in-person sessions with ImplementSpace, an Australian space technology company specialising in satellite hardware and integrated mission support services.
These events provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about ImplementSpace’s capabilities across satellite subsystems, ground operations and launch support, as well as their plans to expand collaboration across the UK space ecosystem.
The sessions will include networking opportunities and informal discussions around technology partnerships, collaborative R&D and supply-chain engagement.
This webinar with the UK Space Agency Accelerator will explore funding pathways for space companies, providing insight into available routes to finance, support mechanisms and how organisations can best position themselves for investment and growth.
The session is aimed at both early-stage and scaling businesses navigating the funding landscape.
Space Wales, in collaboration with KPMG, will host a dedicated scaling-up session for space companies, drawing on KPMG’s experience supporting high-growth technology businesses, including through accelerator programmes such as those delivered with Seraphim.
The session will focus on:
Selling and delivering “as-a-service” solutions in the space sector
Approaching large corporations and dual-use markets
The human aspects of scaling up, including leadership and organisational growth
Further details and registration information will be shared soon.
